Speeding towards Mac ownership
About a year or so ago, I purchased a Wacom Bamboo fun tablet in hopes of really getting into digital art and inking.
What I’ve run into since then has been more than a little frustrating, and knowing the source of the issue is only making that much more difficult not to throw some $$$$ at Apple to pick up a Mac.
Apparently there are some known issues relating to the tablet’s compatibility with XP. I suspect this to be the culprit for near constant loss of pressure sensitivity while using the tablet. I’ve been browsing around various support forums, looking to see if anyone else is experiencing the exact same thing, and it looks like most, if not all, of those who are have XP as their operating system.
Ugh.
The loss of pressure sensitivity is killing my ability to digitally ink artwork, and right now is putting me at a standstill for completing a particular piece on which I woefully need to clean up the inking (and leaving the primary option as manually re-inking the piece). Plus, it’s difficult to practice improving my digital inking skills when the primary purpose behind having the tablet isn’t working properly.
Blargh. Mehck.
I could hold out for Windows 7 and see if that corrects anything, but why spend the money on that when it may not and I’ll end up getting a Mac anyways?
Argh. Blech. URGK.
I’m going to attempt another run at a few suggestions for troubleshooting and see if that helps. If it doesn’t… *glares at her PC* …I can’t vouch for the continued well-being of my computer.
